Our school, IES Miguel de Cervantes, is a Secondary School in Granada, Spain.
Our partner, Dowdales School, is a Secondary School in Dalton in Furness, Cumbria, in the UK.
Next June, a group of students and two teachers from Granada will travel to the UK to visit our partners. The aim of this blog is to introduce ourselves, get to know our partners and write about our experience, so...Let's know each other better.
“This morning it wasn’t raining. We went to Blackpool. The weather was very good” (Noelia)
“Blackpool has a lot of shops and places to have fun. We took a tram and we saw the coastline of Blackpool. We’ve eaten a packed lunch and drank Coca-cola. Then we visited the museum Madame Tussauds. The visit was a fantastic experience! Later we went shopping to buy some things. I bought a T-shirt of the Liverpool football club for my brother. Today was a fantastic day!!” “ (Raquel)
“In Blackpool we visited the museum Madame Tussauds and the Blackpool tower. Then we went to the beach.” (Jesús)
“We saw the tower and we went to the wax museum. In the museum there were a lot of people of the television in England.” (Ángela)

“We went to the tower but it was closed, because it’s being repaired. We took a tram down the street and then the teachers gave us free time. I bought a football t-shirt, a video game, the five games of Comandos in one disk, and a DVD of Metallica.” (Pedro)

“Today we went to the lighthouse. It’s on the top of a hill. I love hiking, so I liked this experience. In the lighthouse the volunteers have explained to us that volunteers have taken care of the monument for a lot of years.” (Pedro)
“We went to the lighthouse here in Ulverston, but a boy has thrown a gum from the top of the lighthouse and the teachers have grounded us. We couldn’t leave the house. We have eaten a picnic for lunch.” (Laura)

“We have seen Lancaster castle. A man has explained to us what happened in the castle in the old ages… Then we went for a walk…we saw a music shop where I bought two picks for guitar, then we began to look for a CD music shop. Marcos asked a girl and she said “Down this street and when you see a cross, you must turn left and right there you’ll see the shop, its name is HMV”,. We follow the directions and we found the shop. I bought three CDs: “Killers”, “The number of the beast” and “Highway to hell”.” (Pedro)
“In Lancaster we visited the castle. I didn’t understand anything of the history. Then we went shopping and I bought 3 T-shirts.” (Estefanía)
“We have visited the castle but I didn’t understand anything. The rest of the day we have been shopping. I’ve bought two T-shirts for my brothers, three bottles for my friends and trainers for me.” (Laura)
“We had a good day and I laughed all the time. Today I’m so happy because I’ve had a good time in Lancaster. When we visited the castle I was bored because the tour guide spoke very fast.” (Alejandro)

“Today we have been to Dowdales School again. We have been in their classes, but in groups of two- three persons. I have been with Jesús in a class of Year 7. We’ve met a lot of boys and girls. The first three lessons were Maths, Religion and English.” (Pedro)
“Today was the best day in England because we went to all the classes in the school. We met al the children in the class and we have made new friends at school. We have studied all day and we didn’t play sport. In the school I ate salad and fish and chips… Their school is fantastic” (Alejandro)

“Today we got up early to go to the Lake District. I ate cereals for breakfast and then took the bus to go to the forest. Then we had a walk in the forest and we went to the Lake District. There we saw the lake and ate fish and chips, it’s really good. Then we had free time” (Jesús)
“I got up at 8:00 because we went to visit the forest. Its name is Gizedale. The forest is enormous and we walked through it. My group got lost… Then we took the bus to go to the lake. There we saw swans and ducks.” (Constanza)
